Where humans and Nature collide
My final piece is supposed to combine the intriguing shape of a pitcher plant with architecture to form this post modern architecture.
I started out with a flat base then erected what would be three walls. After that I took one of the walls and curved it around the opening section where there wasn't a wall.
I formed this pitcher plant by taking a rectangle slab of clay and rolling it up at an angle to form the narrow opening lip. After that I added detail slits to show the curves.
I added the pitched plant onto the curved wall so that it would be sticking out slightly over it. When I was done with that I added detail to the main structure and fired it.
After firing I painted the sculpture. I created a net to cover the main structure acting as the roof.
This is the final project photographed.
